Anonymous asked: When you shoot outdoors, do you primarily use natural lighting, or do you drag along your lights? Do you ever use reflectors for outdoors?
depends on the vibe of the shoot. I drag my lights around a lot of times. but there’s also a lot of times i don’t! I always have my reflector with me outdoors!

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
Who’s excited for the I LIKE LIFE spring line?! It releases at midnight EST on March 31st! Photos via Amy Lynn
I had a great conversation with a good friend of mine on skype the other night. Amy Lynn the illustrious photographer from the great lands of Omaha. She has a tendency to pick me up in the right ways, often when we converse it is a lot of expressions, concerns, and just shooting the shit about artistic perspectives that we diverse our styles in. Through her highly relative ideas and words of wisdom she passed along some great knowledge that I soaked in. Realizing I am human, I have feelings, I have ideas, I have a voice in this world to be just be open and express. As our discussion progressed, a deeper understanding developed.
As artist as I assume a lot of you readers (who ever is reading this), we know we’re always changing, and we know what we believed two years ago we wont believe two years from now. That doesn’t necessarily mean we shouldn’t talk about those thing or create art around those things….we’re so afraid of looking stupid, or being portrayed a certain way. Honestly I am, I may be speaking for myself here. Not everyone is going to like us, regardless how amazing you (we) are….but for us, as artists, nothing means more than that true connection of at least one person seeing your art. One person who can feel your motives. I can care less now if no one reads my posts, or watches my art or anything. I have concluded it doesnt matter, this is my life and I am expressing it. Discovering that to be my comfortable intentness. Even if one person doesnt care about my work or me. I am creating for an audience of one at least, me! And thats A-O-Kay!
I know this may come off as a rant, my apologies and if you have read this post this far, thank you for doing so. I appreciate it. I find art (any form) as a motif for us, we all live a life, whether we work the drive through at a restaurant, or file papers for an office, art will always be our escape emotionally and mentally. Its an occurrence. Perhaps, this post is jumbled of different ideas and feelings, but I am opening and talking. It feels wonderful, even if it doesnt make sense. Now I will go back to my life. Now if you read this far, thank you for being that one person.
Check out Amy Lynn also, she is a phenomenal photographer and director! Follow her as well, she one of the most beautiful, real artist i have the luxury to know.
